GUAM UPDATE NOVEMBER 2024

The Brantley's Journey To Service

"Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin." Psalm 51:2

Hafa Adai from Guam! On November 24th Agat Community Church had our Thanksgiving service and fellowship meal. We also had a baptism service for the four young ladies that recently committed their lives to Christ through the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I keep sharing how God is doing such great things here in Agat, but that is because it is just so awesome to see. Two of the girls that were baptized come from catholic families. They are the first in their homes to accept Christ as their personal savior. One of them had even been through CCD classes and confirmation in the catholic church. But she had the strength through Jesus Christ to tell her family that she did not believe that way any longer and that she had accepted Christ as her personal Savior and wanted to be baptized. Not only did her family allow that, but they also attended the service for church and the baptism. The families of all four girls being baptized were in attendance. Please continue to pray for them as they are attending discipleship classes and growing in their walk with the Lord.

Patrnership with Be Heartfelt

Agat Community Church has been blessed to be able to partner with Be Heartfelt, a non-profit organization that helps the children of Guam with meals, shoes, and school supplies. Our Wednesday night bible study group packs food bags before bible study. Then the social worker picks them up on Thursday morning. On Friday, they are placed in the child's backpack for the weekend. We currently pack 28 bags each week. There are ten students at Talofofo Elementary School, ten students at Marical Sablan Elementary School and eight students at Oceanview Middle School enrolled in the program. We do not know who the students are, but God does. We ask that you pray for this program and children who so desperately need this assistance. Oceanview Middle School in Agat just had a canned food drive to help support the program. The generosity shown by the community was overwhelming.

Mini-Truck Ministry

Well, I was bragging on the little mini truck last month and then this month it went and broke down. As much as we love this little truck, when it has problems, it is a big problem. Getting parts can sometimes prove to be a challenge. We have ordered the part needed, now we wait.

United States Army for the win!!

Allie made a very big decision this month. On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, she raised her right hand and swore in to the United States Army. She signed a six-year contract to be a linguist in the military intelligence field. She will be leaving for basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in March. Following basic training, Allie will go to Monterey, California for language training. After that, she will attend Advanced Individual Training for her specific job in either Arizona or Texas. She hopes to get selected for Airborne school as well. To say we are proud of her and her maturity to make this decision is an understatement. She did not take this lightly. She weighed her options, spoke with all of the different branches, prayed over the choices, then let us know that she was going into the Army. We were honored to have part of our Guam family present for her swearing in. Brother Bob Murphy (USMC), his brother Bill Murphy (US Army, retired) and his wife Rose attended to support Allie. Please continue to lift her up in your prayers. Once she ships to basic training and we have an address, we will share with you all. I know she would love to get as many letters as possible at basic. I can speak from experience; it helps make the time pass faster.

Jeremiah--our fly boy

Jeremiah is still in the air more than he is on the ground most days. Soon, he will be in a different kind of plane. He is scheduled to return to Indiana in January to get his multi-engine rating. There has been an opportunity come up in the Federated States of Micronesia to fly essential flights between the islands. He has been asked by the company he works for to train and do these flights. God has been so gracious with the opportunities that have been presented to Jeremiah. His boss is a retired airline pilot and is putting Jeremiah on his buddy pass to cover the expense of flying home for training. If all goes as planned, he will be relocating to Pohnpei sometime after the first of the year. This is an amazing chance for him to log hours in a multi-engine plane. Please be in prayer.

As we begin to transition into a new phase of our lives, we ask that you remember not only our children in prayer as they start doing some very grown-up things, but us as we become empty nesters. Any advice in this area is welcome. We also ask that you begin praying for Agat Community Church now, as we prepare for furlough in 2025. We have already begun talking to the church and making plans. We pray that God will make it a smooth transition.

We are so thankful to all who have continued to support us on this journey through deputation support, project funds or prayer support. We would not be able to do any of the work that has been done here without God blessing the work and people being willing to support and send us. We pray daily that we are constantly found doing God's will.

Please follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram. We love staying in touch with you all. If you have any prayer requests, please let us know. We would be honored to pray with you and for you.

Thank you again for your kind and loving support.

Thank you and God Bless,

Cathy, Schuyler, Jeremiah and Allie Brantley
