Philippine Ministry Update 3/24

Joyce Porcadilla-Rubia

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to let you know that our second semester started in January and we immediately got busy with the series of events. We were able to hold our first batch of GBBC (General Baptist Bible College) on Sunday, January 28, where we visited a number of churches in the southern and western part of Mindanao. We had to postpone the second batch due to the weather and road conditions.

Early in February we experienced continuous heavy rains which caused flooding in many areas of Davao region and many of our churches were affected. There were soil erosions and landslides that affected major national highways as well. We also had to suspend classes for several days.

We praise and thank God that finally on Sunday, March 3rd, we were able to push through with the second batch of visits to churches in the northern part of Mindanao this time. We are grateful for His travelling mercies and for the opportunity to be able to share about the ministry of GBBC and share God's word to the different churches.

We are also very thankful because during the foundation week, God favored us with good weather. On February 7-11, 2024, we celebrated the 59th founding anniversary of GBBC.  It was truly a fun-filled celebration of God's goodness and faithfulness throughout the life of GBBC. Of course, our way of celebrating was through fun, fellowship and worship!
